I have to say, the swag on show at Euro 2024 has been phenomenal.

In a summer which brought us the news that the famous longstanding arrangement between Germany and Adidas would cease after the tournament, it seems as if some of the bigger retailers like the German giants came to this competition with a point to prove.

The design and aesthetics of these kits can inspire pride and admiration, both on and off the pitch. Here, we take a look at the seven most aesthetically pleasing Euro 2024 shirts.

So, in no particular order…

France

The French national team has a long history of stylish kits, and their new ensemble is no exception.

The home kit features a deep navy blue with subtle gold accents, reflecting the regal heritage of French football. It’s probably the nicest blue of all the Euro 2024 shirts in my opinion.

Sounds weird, but it just seems more regal than the likes of Slovenia and Slovakia.

The intricate detailing on the collar and cuffs adds a touch of elegance, while the minimalist approach keeps the look modern and sharp. The away kit, in contrast, showcases a crisp white design with navy and red stripes, reminiscent of the French flag, blending tradition with contemporary flair.

The gold detailing on the ‘FFF’ logo is always a lovely pop to have on a shirt as well.

Should they win the tournament (as many expect), it could be a feature of the summer – like we saw in pop culture when they won the World Cup in 2018.

Italy

I’m trying to stay as unbiased as possible, but it appears the Italian aura is back this summer.

After a weird past few tournaments (despite the one they won, obviously), there hasn’t been much of that suave, sophisticated influence of the Italian teams on the international stage.

But their Euro 2024 shirts have set themselves up for success in that regard.

Italy’s Euro 2024 kit draws inspiration from classic Italian fashion, combining sophistication with simplicity. The home kit is a rich azure blue, symbolizing the Azzurri’s nickname, with a unique pattern that resembles the intricate tile work found in Italian architecture.

Gold trim around the collar and sleeves enhances the luxurious feel. The away kit is a stylish white with subtle blue and green accents, paying homage to Italy’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

It looks absolutely stunning when Callafiori wears it, by the way!

Netherlands

The Netherlands’ home kit for Euro 2024 is a statement in vibrant orange, their traditional colour, but with a modern twist. Which looks incredible in the vast numbers the Oranje fans travel in.

The jersey features a geometric pattern that pays tribute to the country’s architectural innovation. The away kit flips the colour scheme with a deep navy blue base and orange accents, maintaining a sense of national identity while offering a fresh, contemporary look.

Not their best compared to previous tournaments – with the 2000 and 2004 strips being a particular highlight of mine – but it still works well. I do however adore their blue away kit, which brings them in.

You just can’t have a list of good Euro 2024 shirts without including the only orange one. Okay?!

Germany

Germany’s kit for Euro 2024 is a masterclass in minimalist design.

The home kit features the traditional white base with black details, but it’s the subtle diagonal stripes and the innovative use of the national flag colours on the cuffs that make it stand out.

The away kit, a striking pink with subtle purple and white accents, is both modern and interesting, perfectly embodying the efficiency and flair of modern German football at this tournament.

And don’t even get me started on their pre-match outfits!

Forget Euro 2024 shirts, if we were to do a whole new separate list on Euro 2024 pre-match jackets and apparel pieces, that one would be ranked and Germany would be right at the top.

Spain

Spain’s Euro 2024 shirts are a blend of tradition and modernity.

The home kit features the classic red, but with a dynamic gradient effect that transitions from red to burgundy, symbolizing the passion and intensity of Spanish football.

The gold trim and the subtle use of the Spanish flag colors on the sleeves add to the overall elegance. The away kit, primarily white with a vibrant blue and red stripe, offers a refreshing alternative while still paying homage to the national colors.

Their pre-match gear is also just wonderful to look at.

England

England’s Euro 2024 kits combine classic elements with modern design.

The home kit is a clean white with navy blue and red accents, featuring a subtle St. George’s cross pattern. This nod to national heritage is both patriotic and stylish.

Frankly, it’s better to look at their kits than it is to watch the football at times!

Summary

Despite a lull in performances with the new setup of the tournament, Euro 2024 has been a largely very enjoyable watch for concerned fans, and that will only continue on the up.

The shirts that are on display also bodes well for the football shirt market as a whole – with some of the retailers looking to assert their dominance on the stage, which only works well for us collectors!
